Sustainable California State Universities featuring Lindsey Rowell

April 12, 2023 12:30pm - 1:30pm

The California State University (CSU) Office of the Chancellor has adopted the goal of carbon neutrality by 2045 in alignment with existing campus plans and statewide goals. As climate change continues and resources are impacted, the importance of generating support from leadership & constituents, campus benchmarking tools, alternative funding strategies, and campus climate plans becomes vital. In this webinar, Lindsey Rowell, Chief, Energy, Sustainability & Transportation, will cover the specifics of how the largest university system can be decarbonized through sustainable facilities strategies and infrastructure guidelines. Listeners will learn about all the sustainable strategies CSUs use to improve energy efficiency, with the flexibility of each campus adapting those strategies in a way that works for them in their unique circumstances. Learning objectives for this webinar are:

  • How CSUs generate support from leadership and constituents to further advance sustainability efforts
  • What external frameworks and benchmarks CSU relies on to evaluate its sustainable infrastructure targets
  • How to implement alternative funding strategies for energy efficiency, sustainability and resiliency
  • Successful climate action planning that enables campuses to set aggressive goals that achieve cost-effective, equitable climate protection for campuses and California as a whole
